Harry Potter, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and The Twilight Saga at teen choice awards

Harry Potter, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse were the big winners at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles.


The ceremony aired live on Fox from Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheatre, hosted by The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2 won seven surfboard trophies, including choice summer movie, choice sci-fi/fantasy, choice summer movie star: male for Daniel Radcliffe and choice movie: liplock for Radcliffe and Emma Watson.  Watson also won awards for choice summer movie actress and actress in a sci-fi/fantasy film.  Harry Potter actor Tom Felton was named choice movie villain.

Taylor Lautner won the award for choice movie actor: sci-fi/fantasy for his role in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, while his co-star, Robert Pattinson took home trophies for choice vampire.  Pattinson was also named choice movie actor in a drama for his role in the film Water for ElephantsTwilight co-stars Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene won the choice award for movie scene-stealers.

Taylor Swift was the big winner in the music categories, taking home six Teen Choice Awards: ultimate choice, choice female artist, choice country artist, choice country song for “Mean” and choice break-up song for “Back to December.”  Swift was also named red carpet fashion icon.

Selena Gomez was named choice TV actress for her role on Wizards of Waverly Place, and choice female hottie.  Gomez and her band, The Scene, won awards for choice music group, choice single for “Who Says” and choice love song for “Love You Like a Love Song." Bruno Mars and Katy Perry were named choice summer music star male and female, respectively.

The Vampire Diaries was named choice TV show: sci-fi/fantasy, while its stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were named choice actress and actor in a TV show.  Their co-stars, Katerina Graham and Michael Trevino, were named choice TV scene-stealers.

The cast of Glee won a number of awards, including choice TV comedy, TV actor in a comedy for Cory Monteith and choice TV breakout star for Darren Criss.  The cast of Glee accepted their awards on stage and also introduced a sneak peek clip of Glee 3D: The Concert Movie, which opens nationwide Friday.

MTV’s Jersey Shore was named choice TV reality show, and one of its stars, Paul "Pauly D" Del Vecchio, was named choice male realty star.

Sean Kingston made his first awards show appearance since his jet ski accident and received a standing ovation.  Kingston presented the choice male artist award to Justin Bieber.  Bieber also won awards for male hottie and choice twit.

Will.i.am opened the show and was the Teen Choice Awards DJ for the evening.  Selena Gomez and the Scene performed their choice Love Song-winning hit “Love You Like a Love Song.”  Jason Derulo performed “Don’t Wanna Go Home” and OneRepublic performed “Waking Up.”
